Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has been offered an unlikely way out of Old Trafford thanks to a deadline day offer from Saudi Arabia, which could prove to be a perfect solution for both club and player after a trying week.
Sancho is yet to start for the Red Devils this season, with all three of his appearances coming from the substitutes bench. He was absent from the trip to Arsenal, however, with Erik ten Hag citing training performances as the reason for his omission from the side when asked about it after the defeat to the Gunners.
The England winger has since hit back on social media, writing that he would ‘not allow people saying things that are completely untrue’ and that he has ‘conducted himself very well in training this week’, adding that he has been a ‘scapegoat’ for a long time at Old Trafford.
United have since backed Ten Hag, and the Englishman is now likely to face disciplinary action over his comments against the club on Sunday night.
Signed for £72m in 2021, the 23-year-old is seemingly surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and could face several months with limited football should he opt to remain at Old Trafford until January, though the threadbare nature of Ten Hag’s squad suggests that the manager may be forced to reintegrate him sooner rather than later.
However, there is another way out, with the Daily Mirror reporting that a Saudi side have “sent an official offer” to Jadon Sancho’s representatives as they look to land the Englishman before the transfer window closes in the Middle East, which happens in just over 12 hours.
