Saudi side Al-Ettifaq have announced the capture of Jordan Henderson from Liverpool in a deal worth £12m.
The Reds skipper joins Steven Gerrard, who he took over as Liverpool captain and becomes the side’s second major signing of the summer.
He will take home around 700,000 per week, more than quadrupling his salary at Anfield, and has penned a three year deal in the middle east.
During his time at Liverpool, the veteran helped them lift the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup across 492 appearances for the Anfield outfit, and was a major voice across the Premier League as captain of the Reds.
A leader 💪🏻 A warrior ⚔️
We’re simply thrilled to have him ❤️💚

Liverpool took to their own social media account to thank Henderson for his contribution and Jurgen Klopp added:
In the moment, it is absolutely fine but it was already ongoing for a while now, so we had time to adapt to it and get used to it.
I know it was a really, really tough decision for Hendo and I was around or with him all the way. It’s sad, absolutely strange, because he is the only captain I had here at Liverpool, but I think it is exciting for him as well. We will miss him, without a shadow of a doubt, that’s clear – as a man and as a player. But, as I said, that’s football
