A fresh update on Manchester City’s pursuit of Erling Haaland has emerged on Tuesday afternoon.
This of course comes after news broke late on Monday that Manchester City had agreed terms with the Norwegian’s representatives.
The Daily Mail reported that ‘a suitable financial package’ – which would make Haaland the Premier League’s highest-paid player – has been approved.
The report added that Man City are now expected to activate Haaland’s £63m release clause:
EXCLUSIVE

– Move likely go through in next week or so.

And whilst that is all well and good, there was little reported on if Haaland actually wanted to move to Manchester City.
Now though, The Athletic claim that Haaland has given the green light to a move to Manchester City:
🚨 Erling Haaland understood to have approved Man City move & initial personal terms agreed. Still work to do on contract, payment to Dortmund, agent commission etc so not yet closed & will take time @TheAthleticUK (follows @MikeKeegan_DM scoop) #MCFC #BVB https://t.co/WabQnU56PS

Haaland continues to shine
Should Manchester City get the deal for Haaland over the line it would, on paper, make them one of the most formidable squads in world football.
City are already an elite side that can go toe to toe with pretty much anyone, but having someone with Haaland’s goal-scoring instincts on their books is sure to give them the edge over most teams.
Haaland has scored 82 and assisted 23 in 85 outings for Borussia Dortmund, and 23 in 19 Champions League ties for BVB and RB Salzburg combined.
