England head coach Gareth Southgate is ready to introduce a fresh face to his side’s frontline for their upcoming showdown with Ukraine, according to reports.
The Three Lions, of course, are set to return to action on Sunday.
After kicking the nation’s Euro 2024 campaign into gear with an impressive victory over reigning champions Italy in Naples, Southgate and co. will close out their commitments for the month in a meeting with Ukraine.
A 2nd three-point haul in succession will be widely expected, as English supporters the world over hold out hope of their side sealing qualification for next year’s showpiece with time to spare.
And, as alluded to above, amid ongoing efforts to manage precisely that, the powers that be in the Three Lions setup are planning to shake things up in 24 hours’ time.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of a host of sources that James Maddison is in line for a first ever start for his country against Ukraine.
Maddison, it is understood, is set to replace Jack Grealish on the left of England’s attack.
