Paris Saint-Germain head coach Christophe Galtier has confirmed that the club will not hold a Ligue 1 title celebration ceremony this weekend.
This comes owing to ongoing concerns surrounding the well-being of Sergio Rico.
For those not aware, the name of goalkeeper Rico has taken its place front and centre in the French media headlines across the week to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the Spaniard had been involved in an accident, involving a mule cart and runaway horse in Huelva, southern Spain.
Rico has since been described as being in ‘serious condition’ in hospital, with wife Alba Silva having taken to Instagram on Wednesday, to plead with her husband not to ‘leave her’:
“Don’t leave me alone, my love, because I swear I can’t, nor do I know how to live without you. We are waiting for you my life, we love you so much.”
Paris Saint-Germain learned of the accident involving its player Sergio Rico on Sunday and remains in constant contact with his loved ones.

And, speaking on Thursday evening, boss Christophe Galtier revealed that planned title celebrations, ahead of this weekend’s final round of Ligue 1 fixtures, have too been postponed:
“It’s been a very difficult week. We went from winning the title on Saturday to a rude awakening on Sunday. We’re all affected, we’re trying everything to clear our minds with training sessions. We all send energy together Sergio, his mother, his wife and everyone close to him.”
Galtier added: “The players always ask for news, we have to keep hope, stay positive and send our energy to Sergio who is fighting. We have to believe in medicine.”
PSG’s stars and staff alike instead intend to send a collective message of support to Rico, following the full-time whistle of Saturday’s meeting with Clermont.
