Premier League giants Liverpool are ready to move quickly, in a bid to bring in gifted young midfielder Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich.

The subject of engine room reinforcements, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the media chatter surrounding Liverpool for some time now.

This comes as the powers that be at Anfield go about completely rejuvenating what has long represented an area of concern in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

To this point, the player most persistently tipped to do precisely that has come in the form of Jude Bellingham.

Earlier this week, however, widespread reports pointed towards Liverpool pulling the plug on their pursuit of the England international, owing to Borussia Dortmund’s exorbitant demands.

Alternative targets, as a result, will now be pursued.

The info comes courtesy of The Times, who have revealed that Liverpool have ‘stepped up’ their efforts to land Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich.

For those not aware, Gravenberch, a gifted Dutch youth international, was once regarded as one of the finest young talents emerging from the Eredivisie.

Since swapping Ajax for Bayern last year, however, the 20-year-old’s progress has stalled, giving rise to suggestions that the German champions could simply cut their losses come the summer.

And Liverpool, it would appear, are ready to take advantage of this situation, having this week opened discussions with Gravenberch’s father over the possibility of making the move to England ahead of next season.
