Premier League outfit Everton have, on Thursday, confirmed that a long-time member of the club’s first-team setup has put pen to paper on fresh terms with the club.

The player in question? Seamus Coleman.

Right-back Coleman, of course, has been on the books on the blue half of Merseyside for a full 14 years now.

Since joining the Toffees from Sligo Rovers in his home country for a mere £60,000, the Republic of Ireland international has gone on to establish himself as nothing short of a club legend.

All told, Coleman has notched over 400 appearances in Everton blue, good enough for 17th on the club’s all-time list.

And such commitment to the cause, evidently, remains hugely appreciated on the part of the powers that be at Goodison Park.

As alluded to above, though, Sean Dyche and co. still feel as though the 34-year-old has something to offer over the season to come.

In turn, late on Thursday, it has been confirmed that Coleman has signed a new one-year contract.

In an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms, the Merseysiders announced that:

‘Seamus Coleman will extend his long-serving and hugely-respected Everton playing career into a 15th season after the Blues captain signed a new one-year contract until the end of June 2024.’
