Manchester United host Sheriff in a Europa League match on Thursday evening.

United head into the game sat second in their group with nine points, whilst Sheriff are third with three points.

So, as long as United do not lose, they will qualify for the knockout rounds.

Ahead of the game, 101GreatGoals have provided a Manchester United team news update.

Raphael Varane

Manchester United played Chelsea on Saturday evening, drawing the match 1-1, and Raphael Varane was forced off with an injury in the second 45.

It has been reported that Raphael Varane’s injury is less serious than first feared. He has a lesion of the femoral bicep (hamstring). But if he is selected for France’s World Cup squad, he would probably miss the first match against Australia.

Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial has not been involved in any of the four matches played since he was substituted at Everton, but seems to be getting closer to a return:

“He was on the [training] pitch, but he’s not available for tomorrow,” Ten Hag said in his pre-Chelsea press conference on Friday. “We have to see how it develops in the coming days.”

Ahead of Sheriff, meanwhile, Ten Hag did not give an update on the Frenchman.

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire has missed Manchester United’s last seven games in all competitions with a hamstring injury.

The defender has returned to training this week.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been out of action since September, leaving Diogo Dalot as Manchester United’s only right-back option.

However, the Englishman returned to Carrington this week to take part in first-team training.

Donny van de Beek

Donny van de Beek missed six Premier League games with a knock he picked up back in September.

The Dutchman has now returned to training on the grass at Carrington.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is not injured, but he was banished from the first-team last week after he left Old Trafford early during United’s win over Tottenham.

Ronaldo was not involved vs Chelsea over the weekend. But speaking ahead of Sheriff, Ten Hag confirmed he will be back involved on Thursday.
