Manchester United transfer target Sofyan Amrabat has had his price slashed to just £21m ahead of the final week of the transfer window, Italian reports claim, with the Moroccan training on his own ahead of an anticipated departure.

The midfielder has been linked with a range of clubs this summer, but Manchester United have been credited with a long-standing interest in the 26-year-old, who Erik ten Hag has worked with previously.

Initially thought to cost around £30m this summer, Italian outlet Correire dello Sport claim that current side Fiorentina would be willing to accept just £21m for the midfielder, less than his transfermarkt value of £26m, and he has been left out of the squad for their upcoming clash in hopes of making a move this summer.

La Viola manager Vincenzo Italiano explained that “Amrabat is training on his own, he won’t travel with us for next game”, with Liverpool also thought to be weighing up a move for the midfielder.

Manchester United’s need for a midfielder has been laid bare in the opening weeks of the season, with sides able to attack the Red Devils through the middle far too easily and no player having been dribbled past more in the opening two games than Casemiro.

It has been made yet more important by injury to Mason Mount, which is set to rule the Englishman out for between four and six weeks and leaves Ten Hag’s side looking weaker than last season in the middle of the pitch given Fred’s departure and Scott McTominay having been seemingly frozen out.
