Olivier Giroud’s France are currently locked in World Cup action with Australia.

France were the heavy favourites heading into the game. However, Australia did take an early lead in the match via Craig Goodwin.

Their lead did not last too long, though, as Adrien Rabiot put Les Bleus back on level terms after 27 minutes.

Olivier Giroud then made it 2-1 after 32 minutes before Kylian Mbappe added a third 68 minutes in.

France did not stop there, though, with Giroud scoring his second of the night less than 10 minutes later.

His second vs Australia was Giroud’s 51st goal for France in all competitions. As a result, he is now level in France’s all-time goalscoring charts with a fellow Arsenal man, Thierry Henry.

And given Karim Benzema is now out of the World Cup due to injury, there is a good chance that Giroud will break Henry’s record in the coming weeks.
