West Ham United summer signing Mohammed Kudus, on Thursday, caught the eye on the international stage.

For those who may somehow have missed it, the name of versatile attacker Kudus took its place front and centre in the media headlines across much of the summer.

This came after word was forthcoming that the Ajax star had been identified as a leading target on the part of a whole host of Premier League clubs.

The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United were all tipped as potential landing spots.

In the end, though, it was the aforementioned West Ham who beat out the competition, striking a deal with their Ajax counterparts for a sum in the region of £38 million.

And, as alluded to above, this evening, Kudus provided an early insight into exactly why the powers that be in east London pushed so hard to secure his signature.

Kudus, meanwhile, was afforded an expected starting berth, joining the likes of Jordan Ayew and Inaki Williams in a recognisable frontline.

And, late in the first-half of action, the 23-year-old opened the evening’s scoring.

Taking responsibility of a set-piece on the right of the CAF’s penalty area, Kudus directed a fine bending effort into the top corner of the net.

Check out the West Ham man’s piece of trademark brilliance below:
