Real Madrid midfield star Federico Valverde has revealed that he turned down the chance to move away from Madrid this summer after netting against Real Sociedad.
The Uruguay midfielder found the net to level the scoring early in the second half after Sociedad had taken a shock early lead, helping his side turn the deficit around and emerge 2-1 winners to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
It was just his second La Liga goal of 2023 for Los Blancos, with the first coming all the way back in February against Osasuna, and afterwards he admitted that he had no desire to ever leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Premier League offers? I have the ability to play for Real. The day I don’t feel like that, I’m probably going to look for another solution or Real itself will look for one for me”, he explained after the game.
Liverpool were thought to be keen on signing the Uruguayan should they have been handed the chance over the summer, with Jurgen Klopp understood to hold a long-standing interest in the midfielder, who provided the assist for Vinicius Jr for the winning goal when the two sides met in the Champions League final in 2022.
One of the most highly-rated midfielders in the world, he would not have been short of offers were he to leave the Spanish capital, but despite the arrival of Jude Bellingham the Uruguay star is not going to be leaving the Bernabeu any time soon if the choice is left with him, and he is set to form one of the most formidable midfield quartets alongside the Englishman and French pair Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni.
