Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez joined the club for big money from Benfica over the summer.
Nunez scored on his debut in the Community Shield but his form in the Premier League has not been that great.
Nunez has gone seven games without finding the target for club and country, with nobody missing more big chances in the Premier League this season, and he drew another blank in a 3-1 defeat at Brentford when seeing one gilt-edged chance cleared off the line and another – when he actually found the net – ruled out for offside.
This once again saw Nunez became something of a joke on social media, with Dominos even making fun of the striker.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed how Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool players are responding to Nunez’s struggles in front of goal, with the reaction largely a positive one:
“It’s not been the easiest start at Liverpool for Darwin Nunez, but all the indications I get from both Liverpool and the player’s side are clear: they are convinced it’s just a matter of time,” Romano said.
