England boss Gareth Southgate says captain Harry Kane has recovered from a back injury and will be ready for Euro 2024 in Germany.

The Bayern Munich striker missed the last game of the season for his club, casting doubts over his fitness for the anticipated summer tournament.

But he will be ready to go as the Three Lions look to right their wrongs from the 2021 final at Wembley.

Former Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel had previously revealed that the 30-year-old was struggling to move in the final week of the domestic campaign.

However, Southgate revealed earlier in the week that he is pretty much recovered from the issue.

He said: “He is quite relaxed about it.

“I think a sensible decision was taken not to push for the last game there.

“Back problems can just happen – travel, whatever else – but it is not something we are concerned about at this moment in time.

“Our understanding of it is that it is something that is pretty much clear now.”

Kane scored 45 goals in 44 games across all competitions in 2023-24.

The former Tottenham man is in the form of his life, racking up 12 assists to go with his stack of goals in Munich.

He is also England’s top scorer and the nation will be relying on his excellence once again in the quest to win a first major international honour since the 1966 World Cup.
