For United, the game could have great significance for the future of coach Erik ten Hag. A battling display – even if it ends in defeat – may be enough to secure his future at Old Trafford for at least another season.
And last, but by no means least, this is a Manchester derby with local bragging rights at stake!

FA Cup final day is one of the great occasions in British sport and it attracts a lot of people wishing to place a small wager to make the game even more exciting.

Predictions, Bets, Odds

The odds listed below were provided by bet365 and were correct at the time of publication. However, they are subject to change.

Manchester City to win @ 3/10 with bet365

Manchester United to win @ 8/1 with bet365

As you can see, there doesn’t seem to be much value there unless you fancy United to cause a major shock.

One market that has taken our fancy is both teams to score at 3/4 with bet365.

Both teams have scored in five of their six previous meetings in all competitions.

Another is over 2.5 goals which is 4/9 with bet365. Each of the last six meetings have produced at least three goals.

Combining those two bets also gives you odds of evens, which is tempting!

Match Preview

City’s bid for the quadruple may have hit the skids with defeats to Newcastle in the EFL Cup and Real Madrid in the Champions League but their quest for the double remains very much on track.

Sunday’s 3-1 defeat of West Ham saw them edge out Arsenal to win the Premier League and become the first team to win the English top flight for four successive years.

They go into the game in great form having won their last 10 matches in domestic competition. Erling Haaland has regained his goal-den touch while the likes of Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva continue to impress.

The same cannot be said for Manchester United who continue to lurch from one problem to the next. Ten Hag appears to be constantly hanging on to his job by a thread and the sudden availability of Mauricio Pochettino potentially heightens his need for a good showing at Wembley.

United’s defensive woes may be slowly coming to an end with Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez potentially fit to face City.
