Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola believes Jack Grealish will bounce back after struggling to perform at his best this season.

The 28-year-old starred in the Treble winning campaign of 2022-23 and was a starter in the FA Cup and Champions League final, but has struggled to break into the starting XI as City retained their Premier League crown this term.

After starting both semi-final legs against Real Madrid, the former Aston Villa man featured for little over 10 minutes across five games in May.

He did not come on in the recent FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City, with Jeremy Doku being favoured.

But Guardiola is not worried about his £100million man.

“He will be back,” he said

“He’s struggled this season and Jeremy has made an incredible step forward as everyone has seen in the last games.

“But Jack will be back at the level of last season, I’m pretty sure.”

Grealish has been named in Gareth Southgate’s provisional England squad for Euro 2024 but is not guaranteed to be included when it is cut from 33 to 26 players.

A few years ago he would have been one of the first names on the teamsheet but the attacking talent at the disposal of the Three Lions boss is stronger than it has ever been.

Grealish is competing with the likes of Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Jarrod Bowen and Anthony Gordon for a spot.

A move away from City looks unlikely for the 35-cap international as he earns huge wages in Manchester and has a contract that runs until 2027.
