Tottenham defender Cristian Romero says he is not looking to leave the club this summer after enjoying another impressive Premier League campaign.
Spurs finished fifth in Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge and Romero has been a large part of the team’s improvements under the Australian head coach.
The recruitment of Micky van de Ven has allowed the Argentina international to forge an impressive partnership with the Dutchman alongside Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie at full-back.
He has often been labelled as an aggressive and emotional defender but in 2024 there has been a noticeable difference in his actions on the pitch.
Romero has been diving in less and picking up fewer bookings, setting an example to the rest of the squad.
The 28-year-old has three years left on his contract and a few reports have sprinkled the idea that he may look to cut ties with the North London club, but Romero has since denied the claims.

Instead, he says his only focus is on this summer’s Copa America although he did admit he does analyse every offer that arrives for him.
Speaking to DSports Como Te Va, he said: “The truth is that I’m fine.
“For now I’m not thinking about that [a transfer], I’m thinking about preparing myself these days to get to the national team in the best way possible, which is the next step I have.
“The things that come up at the moment are obviously always analysed but I’m not thinking about the future, I’m thinking about the national team.
“Now that I have the Copa America, I will always try to take the national team to the top and then we will see what happens.”
Romero and Postecoglou have had plenty of ups and downs in 2023-24 but there is a feeling of optimism surrounding the club.

A strong transfer window this summer will put them in a position to improve upon their fifth-placed finish in the Premier League and they will return to Europe in the new campaign.
On his boss, Romero added: “I’m very happy to be in this present, even though group achievements haven’t been the best or we didn’t expect to end like this, but also, at the group level for the coach’s first year, he has been good in all lines.
“We have to keep wanting more. Individually, I’m very happy for this beautiful season that I’ve had.”
