Jose Mourinho received a hero’s welcome after Fenerbahce announced the 61-year-old as their new head coach.
The former Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United boss replaces Ismail Kartal, who left last month after finishing second in the Turkish Super Lig, despite tallying 99 points and losing one game.
Mourinho has been out of work since being sacked by Roma at the start of 2024 but is keen to add more silverware to his collection with his new club.
He remains the only manager to have won the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League and will be eyeing up the former if they can make it through the qualifiers at the start of the new campaign.
Fenerbahce had previously announced they were in negotiations with the Portuguese tactician out of respect for their investors.
And a deal has now been completed, despite Mourinho reportedly holding talks with Besiktas as well.

He was flown to the club’s stadium, where he was unveiled in front of thousands of supporters who had gathered to see their new manager.
Fenerbahce live-streamed the event in which Mourinho gave his first interview and soaked up the Turkish atmosphere.
Over 250,000 were watching the official stream, with thousands more in attendance and watching on TV at home.
Across a 24-year career in management, the ‘Special One’ has picked up 21 major honours and famously led Inter Milan to the Treble in 2010.
His most recent triumph came with Roma in 2022, winning the Europe Conference League before losing the Europa League final on penalties a year later.
The only club he has not won silverware at is Tottenham and he will be calling on all of his experience to make sure he picks up a winners medal or two in Turkey.
