Kylian Mbappe suffered a broken nose during France’s opening game at Euro 2024 but will not need surgery.
The French Football Federation say a mask will be made for the Les Bleus skipper but did not confirm whether the forward will be fit to face the Netherlands on Friday.
Mbappe was forced off during Monday’s 1- win over Austria after his face collided with opposing defender Kevin Danso during an aerial challenge.
A statement said: “Kylian Mbappe returns to the base camp of the French national team.
“Kylian Mbappe suffered a broken nose during the second part of the Austria-France held this Monday in Dusseldorf.
“The captain of France was treated first by the medical staff and Dr. Franck Le Gall, who diagnosed him with a nose fracture.
“Mbappe will receive treatment in the next few days, but he will not undergo surgery in the immediate future.
“A mask will be made for him so that the number 10 of the French national team can prepare for his return to the competition after a period dedicated to treatment.”

France boss Didier Deschamps described the incident as the “big negative” of an evening that saw them kick off Euro 2024 with a win.
“His nose is not good at all,” Deschamps said. “Even if it’s just the nose, it’s the big negative point for us tonght.
“The medical staff is checking him out. I saw him on the massage table, and you know… he didn’t get off lightly.”
On a mixed night for the Real Madrid star, he set up the game’s only goal after his brilliant run forced Maximillian Wober to head the ball into his own net.
But he then spurned a golden chance to make it 2-0 in the game before his nasty collision with Danso late in the game.
