Team news

Ukraine and Belgium have named their starting line-ups for their third and final Group E games at Uefa Euro 2024 in a crucial game for both sides.

Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard is the new face in The Red Devils’ starting line-up, replacing PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko.

Ukraine head coach Serhiy Rebrov shakes up his starting side, reverting to a 5-3-2 without one of Trossard’s club team-mates, Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The headline news is the absence from the matchday squad of Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

Roman Yaremchuk started in attacking alongside Artem Dovbyk, who was last season’s La Liga top scorer with surprise packages Girona.

Everton left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko replaced Zinchenko for a side looking to reach the knockout stage of a major tournament for the third time.

The state of the group

Belgium’s task is more straightforward than their opponents’: Domenico Tedesco needs to steer his side to a point to progress.

Should Belgium lose and Romania beat Slovakia in the simultaneous group-stage match, they would go out of the competition.

For Ukraine, the challenge is to beat Belgium to guarantee a place in the round of 16, but a draw will be enough if they draw and the other game is not drawn.

Rebrov’s players knew they would be eliminated if they lost and Slovakia avoided defeat, or if both games were drawn.

The winners of Group E will play the third-placed team from Group C or D, while the runners-up face France. The third-placed team could advance to play Spain or England.
