Bayern Munich are set to complete the signing of midfielder Joao Palhinha from Fulham in a deal which could eventually cost £45million.
The 28-year-old, who is currently representing Portugal at Euro 2024, was close to joining Bayern in the summer of 2023 but a deal collapsed on deadline day.
Bayern’s interest remained however and it now looks as though the move, which will be a record sale for Fulham, is close to being tied up, according to the BBC.
Palhinha will reportedly cost the Bavarians £42.5m, plus £4.2m in add-ons and is set to sign a four-year contract at the Allianz Arena.

He has made three appearances for Portugal at this summer’s Euros, starting in their last-16 penalty shoot-out victory over Slovenia which set up a quarter-final with France on Fridy.
The 30-cap international has been a key man at Craven Cottage since his arrival from Sporting in 2022, making 79 appearances across two campaigns and winning the club’s Player of the Year award in his first season.
It comes just days after Whites manager Marco Silva rejected the chance to move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad.
