Alisha Lehmann says it is a “dream” for her and partner Douglas Luiz to be at the same club after she completed a move to Juventus this morning.

Brazil midfielder Luiz joined Juventus from Aston Villa last week and 25-year-old Lehmann will also play for the Bianconeri next season after signing a three-year deal in Turin.

Villa confirmed they had agreed an undisclosed fee with Juve for the Swiss international who departs having made 74 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals.

Lehmann told Juventus’ official website: “I am very happy, Juve has a great history, so much so that I have to be honest: when I carried out the medical examinations, I saw so many fans at J|Medical, getting out of the car I was a little nervous, but now everything is fine.

“My career has developed in England, and I have learned a lot over the years. I got there as a little girl, now I’m more mature. In recent years I’ve learned to understand the moments of the game, and I think I can bring what I learned in this experience to Juve.

“For me and Douglas being together at the same club is a dream. We have often played in different cities, and so being able to live these great adventures in the same place is something wonderful.”

Lehmann also said her thank yous to Villa after a three-year spell in the West Midlands.

She wrote on Instagram: “An emotional goodbye, I wanna say thank you to my team-mates, staff and of course the amazing fans.

“I spend the best three years so far of my career at this amazing club, every single minute I enjoyed.

“Thank you for everything Aston Villa. You will always have a special place in my heart, and of course a part of me will be there forever. Thank you.”
