Ex-Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has returned to football, joining Fiorentina.
The Spanish stopper was linked with both Newcastle and Nottingham Forest but opted not to return to the Premier League.
Saudi Pro League clubs were also reportedly interested in the stopper.
Instead, he chose Italy and completed his medical tests with Fiorentina, who are closing in on their Serie A opener next weekend.
De Gea has been without a club since departing Old Trafford at the end of the 2022-23 season.
He spent 12 years at Man Utd and lived up to the hype as Edwin van der Sar’s replacement.

De Gea was criticised during his time in England, but grew as one of the league’s finest shot-stoppers.
The club’s four-time Player of the Year could not agree a new deal due to his demanding wage wishes, therefore he left as a free agent.
Fiorentina are not expected to have forked out anywhere near as much as the Red Devils were paying for De Gea’s services.
He will instead compete with Pietro Terracciano for the No.1 spot at Fiorentina.
They finished eighth in Serie A last term and reached the Europa Conference League final.
