Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr

Al-Nassr have sacked head coach Luis Castro just three games into the new Saudi Pro League season.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Co have won just one of their matches so far in 2024-25, leaving them four points off leaders Al-Ittihad.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the club are looking at former AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli as a replacement after the Italian ended up rejected a move to the current league leaders.

In a statement on X, Al-Nassr said:”Club have officially decided to terminate the contractual relationship with the first team coach, Mr. Luis Castro. We appreciate all the efforts he made with Nassr, and wish him success 💛.”

Pioli was replaced by Paulo Fonseca at the end of 2023-24 after a disappointing campaign in Milan.

But with the opportunity to manage one of the greatest to ever do it in Ronaldo, he may take up the opportunity to make the switch to Saudi Arabia.

Al-Hilal are the reigning champions and will take some beating this term.

And it makes sense why Al-Nassr have moved so early as to keep their silverware ambitions alive.

Al-Nassr are back in action on Friday night against Al-Ettifaq as they look to move up the table.
