Manchester City and Inter Milan’s starting line-ups have been revealed for their respective Champions League openers.

The league phase tie in the newly-formatted Champions League is a replay of the 2023 final, which City won 1-0 to complete a historic Treble.

Pep Guardiola’s City have made an impressive start to their 2024-25 season, sitting top of the Premier League with four wins from four.

Inter, meanwhile, sit third in Serie A with two wins and two draws so far.

Manchester City starting XI

Guardiola has named a strong XI with Erling Haaland, Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne named from the start for the 8pm clash.

Jack Grealish also starts for the third successive game, with John Stones and Phil Foden on the bench.

Rico Lewis starts in defence alongside Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji and Josko Gvardiol. with Bernardo Silva and Savinho also selected.

Manchester City XI: Ederson, Lewis, Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne, Savinho, Grealish, Haaland.

Inter Milan starting XI

Inter Milan are without striker Lautaro Martinez for the clash at the Etihad after the Argentinian was withdrawn in the 54th minute of their 1-1 draw with Monza.

Medhi Taremi replaces the 27-year-old up front, with Hakan Calhanoglu and Marcus Thuram also featuring in attack.

Denzel Dumfries remains on the bench despite his 88th-minute equaliser, with Matteo Darmian retaining his place.

Inter Milan starting XI: Sommer, Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni, Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski, Augusto, Taremi, Thuram.
