Early Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane goals put Al Nassr on course for a fifth consecutive win in all competitions when the Saudi Pro League side hosted Al Orobah on Saturday.

Ronaldo converted from the spot in the 17th after former Hull City, Fulham and Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri was adjudged to have handled inside the box.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner then set up Mane for the second, collecting Ronaldo’s low pass and surging into the penalty area before firing in from a tight angle.

Ronaldo goal vs Al Orobah

Al Nassr have never lost to Al Orobah and Ronaldo and Mane’s strikes put them on course to extend that record as they dominated first-half possession and led 2-0 at the break.

Portugal captain Ronaldo could have scored earlier, sending a third-minute effort over the crossbar in pursuit of a third goal in as many top-flight matches.

Mane has been ever-present in the Saudi Pro League for his side this season but scored for the first time in the campaign with a ruthless finish.

Mane goal vs Al Orobah

The two-time African Footballer of the Year has been in productive form, providing five league assists and scoring in the AFC Champions League and King’s Cup.

Ronaldo’s Portugal are away to Poland in the Nations League next Saturday and visit Scotland three days later (both 7.45pm BST).

Mane’s Senegal host Malawi in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying on Friday (8pm) before visiting the same opponents the following Tuesday (2pm).

Al Nassr fixtures

Al Nassr will return to action on October 18 (7pm), visiting the team who will be immediately behind them in the table if they win, Al Shabab.

Victory would lift the unbeaten nine-time Saudi champions to third after six games, a point behind Al Hilal and Al Ittihad.

Leaders Al Hilal have won all of their first five league games and play their game in hand when they visit midtable Al Ahli later on Saturday (7pm).
