Match Preview

France will hope to shrug off the controversy around Kylian Mbappe’s absence and claim back-to-back Nations League wins when they visit Belgium on Monday night.

Mbappe was left out of Didier Deschamps’ squad last week due to injury but still turned out for Real Madrid at the weekend. He was then spotted in a Stockholm nightclub on Thursday night at the same time Les Blues were winning 4-1 against Israel.

His actions have created headlines in France but doesn’t seem to have thrown Deschamps and his players off course and they were hugely impressive in their last outing in a game played in the neutral venue of Budapest.

Belgium can also go into this game on a high after hitting back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Italy on Thursday.
