Thomas Tuchel has agreed to become England’s next manager, according to multiple reports.
The Times say the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich coach is set to become the Three Lions’ permanent manager after a signing a deal with the FA on Tuesday.
The German tactician has been out of work since leaving Bayern in May as he lands the first international role of his career.
Tuchel, 51, succeeds Gareth Southgate as manager after he stepped down from his role after leading England to the Euro 2024 final.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tuchel gave the green light to manage the Three Lions in July after Southgate left in the aftermath of England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain in the final.
England had reportedly been keen to land Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola when his contract at the Etihad expires at the end of the season but have now opted for the German.
He led Chelsea to Champions League glory in 2021, also landing the Super Cup and Club World Cup before he was sacked in September 2022.
A serial winner at club level, Tuchel won the title with both Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern, also winning two German Cups with Borussia Dortmund.
