Eddie Howe says his Newcastle side must prepare to face a completely different Chelsea team in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
The Magpies lost 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday, with Cole Palmer starring for the Blues.
Plenty of the West London club’s stars were on display, but as they are in the Europa Conference League, head coach Enzo Maresca may opt to heavily rotate for the domestic cups.
Speaking ahead of the match, Howe said: “We’re still digesting Sunday’s game.
“In football, you very quickly turn your attention onto the next game. Possibly a different team, possibly a different opponent, so we need to be ready for the match.”
Palmer grabbed the winner on Sunday and provided a beautiful pass in the build-up to Chelsea’s first goal.
Eddie Howe on Chelsea:
“This is one game where they could make wholesale changes or one or two changes, we don’t know what they will do. We need to plan for what we will do, we know there are certain aspects of our performance that we need to get right to win and that will be… pic.twitter.com/2aOgTC3K6r

It is proving to be another stellar campaign for the England international so far as the Blues surge up the table and Howe admits his players were unable to stop him at the Bridge.
He added: ” I thought he played really well. You can see he’s playing really well.
“We didn’t do enough to stop him in transitions. He set up the first goal in that fashion, scored the second goal in that fashion. We’ve learned from that.
“We will pass that on to the players and aim to do better. As a team, we will aim to collectively do better. The last 60 minutes, we defended a lot more securely, albeit we conceded a second.”
