West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui
West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui has addressed questions about potential managerial changes at Manchester United following his team’s victory over them, which ultimately marked the end of Erik ten Hag’s tenure at Old Trafford.

When asked about rumours of Ruben Amorim’s potential appointment as the new Manchester United manager, Lopetegui chose to keep his focus on the present.

He said: “I am not commenting. Ruud [van Nistelrooy] is the coach.

“I don’t have to comment on something that hasn’t happened right now.”

Despite further questions, Lopetegui maintained his stance, adding, “I repeat, I have no comment. I have enough problems in my mind with Nottingham Forest. This is enough for me, for sure.”

Reflecting on Ten Hag’s departure, Lopetegui offered supportive words, acknowledging the challenges faced by his counterpart.

He said: “I wish the best for him. He did very good work and he’s a very good coach.

“I understand these kind of moments. I’m sure that very soon he is going to be working again, for sure.”

West Ham have a huge game on the horizon when they face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this weekend.

Following their win against the Red Devils last time out, two wins in a row could be on the cards for Lopetegui’s side.

Nottingham Forest have been flying so far this term, particularly at home.

So nothing is guaranteed for the Hammers.
