Second-half goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo gave Arne Slot’s team a memorable victory, meanwhile Real’s struggling form in this year’s competition continues.
Both sides missed penalties, with Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah failing to find the net from 12 yards.
The result leaves Slot’s side top of the pile after five matches and they remain the only team to have won all five.

For Aston Villa, they failed to end their recent winless run but can take comfort in the fact they held Juventus, one of Europe’s big hitters, to a goalless draw at Villa Park.
Morgan Rogers had a goal ruled out deep in second-half stoppage time, at the end of what was a largely cagey affair in the West Midlands.
Celtic, meanwhile, also picked up a point after they came from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Club Brugge.
A disastrous own goal from Cameron Carter-Vickers was eventually cancelled out by Daizen Maeda as Brendan Rodgers side sit in 20th spot.

Elsewhere, an entertaining contest in the south of France saw Monaco fall to a 3-2 defeat to Benfica.
Eliesse Ben Seghir had given the hosts a first-half lead but Vangelis Pavlidis levelled for the visitors shortly after the restart.
Wilfried Singo then saw red for Monaco before Soungoutou Magassa restored the home side’s advantage only for two Benfica goals in the final ten minutes – from Arthur Cabral and Zeki Amdouni – to turn the tie in favour of the Portuguese team.
Monaco move to eighth while Benfica jump up to 14th.

In another five-goal thriller, PSV scored goals in the 87th, 90th and 97th minute to overturn a two-goal deficit and claim a memorable win over Shakhtar Donetsk.
First-half goals from Danylo Sikan and Oleksandr Zubkov put Shakhtar in a commanding position but they were then reduced to ten men on 69-minutes when Pedrinho was dismissed.
The numerical advantage sparked a late resurgence from the hosts, with Malik Tillman bagging a brace and Ricardo Pepi grabbing the winner for PSV.
Lille continued their fine start to the Champions League campaign with two goals from Ngal’ayel Mukau proving to be the difference as they emerged 2-1 victors over Bologna.
Jhon Lucumi scored for the Italian side as Lille move to 12th in the table.
SK Sturm Graz beat Girona 1-0 courtesy of Mika Biereth, while Crvena zvezda thumped Stuttgart 5-1.
Nemanja Radonjic helped himself to two, while Silas, Rade Krunic and Mirko Ivanic also scored. Ermedin Demirovic found the net for Stuttgart.
In the other game of the night, Borussia Dortmund breezed past Dinamo Zagreb to move up to fourth.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Ramy Bensebaini and Serhou Guirassy scored in a 3-0 win for the German side.
