Sean Dyche admits neither he nor his players have delivered this season but says he will continue “trying to crack the code” at Everton.
The Toffees head into tomorrow night’s relegation battle with Wolves on a run of four games without a goal and on the back of a 4-0 thrashing at Manchester United on Sunday.
Everton are two points above the drop zone and Dyche concedes it is not where they expected to be at this stage of the season.
He said: “Sometimes me, my staff and the players haven’t delivered as well as we could do.
“But we work tirelessly. This is the most work I’ve done in all my years in management, at this club, without a shadow of a doubt.
“I’m more than ready for the challenge. It could be easier because for sure I’ve made errors this season, the team has made errors, they are there for all to see.
“It’s a fact of life as a manager, you have to get the margins right and we haven’t done so far this season.

He added: ”You’ve got to win games and we haven’t won enough games.
“We’ve got ourselves in a position where we feel we should be doing better – myself included – and now it is about taking on the challenge.
“I’m still trying to crack the code, as others have done before me.”

It’s been difficult and still is – Dyche
Everton’s form has led to speculation around Dyche’s future at Goodison Park but he is likely to remain in place while owner Farhad Moshiri continues to try to sell the club with the Friedkin Group poised to buy him out.
Asked if he had sought assurances from Moshiri, Dyche swerved the question and said: “The fact is it’s never been an easy ride since I’ve walked in, that’s never changed. I’ve been truthful and open about that. It’s been difficult and it still is difficult.
“The club hasn’t been operating in the manner it wants to for the last five seasons. We finished really well last season, but maybe that was misleading going into this season. It was never going to be easy.”
Dyche wary of Wolves
Wolves’ form has been unpredictable in recent weeks with wins over Southampton and Fulham followed by Saturday’s 4-2 defeat at home to Bournemouth.
Gary O’Neil’s men are 18th, three places worse off than Everton, but Dyche is expecting a difficult game.
“They’ve got good players,” he said. “They’ve had a tough start, as have we. It’s a very important game. Every game is a must win, that is something I’ve learned at Everton.”
