Premier League leaders Liverpool were aiming to keep Chelsea at arm’s length when they hosted Fulham on Saturday.
The Blues’ fine form, and the postponement of last weekend’s Merseyside derby due to Storm Darragh, had seen Enzo Maresca’s men close to four points behind Liverpool.
Chelsea take on Brentford on Sunday (7pm GMT).
Fulham arrived on a run of one defeat in their past seven league games, including a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Arsenal last Sunday.
