Chelsea have recalled defender Trevoh Chalobah from his loan with Crystal Palace, according to David Ornstein.
The centre-back has made 14 appearances in all competitions since sealing a temporary switch to Selhurst Park in August.
Injuries Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile means the Blues need cover in defence, so have opted to exercise the option for Chalobah to return.
The decision comes just hours before the Eagles’ Premier League clash with Leicester on Wednesday evening, with the 25-year-old now unable to feature.

Palace had to withdraw Chalobah from their squad to face Stockport in the FA Cup on Sunday due to Chelsea’s decision.
Manager Oliver Glasner said yesterday said the player was keen to remain in South London but admitted hus future was in his parent club’s hands.
He said: “It’s a tricky situation. I always want to be honest. Chelsea has the possibility to call him back from loan.
“There’s a little bit of uncertainty at the moment: will they do it, when will they do it? We need clarity, he needs clarity.”
Chalobah was consired surplus to requirements by Chelsea in the summer, with the academy graduate deemed part of the so-called “bomb squad” of players they were looking to offload.
His recall is likely to end the Blues’ reported pursuit of Eagles skipper Marc Guehi this January.
