Bayern Munich

While there were four big games going on in the Premier League on Wednesday, Europe’s big guns were also in action.

Harry Kane and Bayern Munich were looking to continue their march towards the Bundesliga title at home to Hoffenheim.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan were hosting Bologna in a tough Serie A clash.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid were both in Copa del Rey action and Paris Saint-Germain faced Espaly in the Coupe de France.

Read on to see how each team fared.

Bayern Munich 5-0 Hoffenheim

Bayern Munich delivered a dominant performance in their match against Hoffenheim, cruising to a 5-0 victory at the Allianz Arena.

Leroy Sane opened the scoring just six minutes in with a stunning strike, setting the tone for Die Roten’s relentless night in front of goal.

Raphael Guerreiro doubled the lead in the 12th minute with a well-executed one-two with Harry Kane, who later converted a penalty to make it 3-0 before half-time.

The second half saw no letup as Sane netted his second just three minutes after the restart, finishing a Mathys Tel cross. Substitute Serge Gnabry added the fifth, capitalising on a blocked shot to seal the win.

Inter Milan 2-2 Bologna

Inter Milan could only manage a point against Bologna at San Siro.
The away side started brightly, taking an early lead in the 15th minute through Santiago Castro, who redirected Nikola Moro’s low pass beyond Yann Sommer.
However, Inter responded almost immediately. Denzel Dumfries capitalised on a rebound from Federico Dimarco’s saved shot, tapping in to level the score at 1-1.

The Nerazzurri took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Dimarco delivered a low cross for Lautaro Martinez, who fired into the top netting from close range.

Bologna rallied in the second half, pulling it back in the 64th minute when Emil Holm’s deflected strike from outside the box found the net after a smart setup by Riccardo Orsolini.

Barcelona 5-1 Real Betis

Barcelona dominated Real Betis in an emphatic 5-1 win in the Copa del Rey.
Gavi opened the scoring in the 3rd minute after a clever assist from Dani Olmo before Barcelona doubled their lead in the 27th minute with a stunning volley from Jules Kounde.

Even with their five goals that stood, Barcelona had two goals disallowed by VAR, and Olmo was denied by the post and Betis goalkeeper Vieites.

However, Raphinha added a third goal in the 58th minute, finishing from close range after a blocked pass from Yamal.

Substitute Ferran Torres quickly made it 4-0 with a volley from Olmo’s lofted pass in the 67th minute.

Yamal finally got his deserved goal in the 75th minute, racing past the Betis defence to slot home Barca’s fifth.

Although Betis pulled one back in the 83rd minute with a Roque penalty, it was merely a consolation.

Elche 0-4 Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid cruised to a 4-0 victory over Elche in the cup.
Alexander Sorloth opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a composed finish into the bottom corner.
The Norwegian doubled Atletico’s lead soon after, converting a penalty with a confident strike down the middle.

Elche’s struggles deepened in the 29th minute when Nicolas Fernandez received a second yellow card, leaving the hosts with 10 men.

Atletico capitalised on their numerical advantage early in the second half as Rodrigo Riquelme unleashed a stunning long-range effort into the top corner.

Julián Alvarez capped off the rout in the 62nd minute, slotting home from close range following a corner.

Elspaly 2-4 Paris Saint-Germain

PSG advanced to the last 16 of the Coupe de France with a hard-fought 4-2 win over Espaly.

The hosts stunned PSG early when Gjeci headed home Mezaber’s cross to take a 1-0 lead.

PSG struggled to take their chances until Warren Zaire-Emery equalised in the 37th minute, firing a low shot into the bottom corner after a clever cutback from Desire Doue.

In the second half, Doue’s close-range finish, set up by Bradley Barcola, gave PSG a 2-1 lead, but Espaly equalised through Maxence Fournel, who reacted quickly to score after a scramble in the box.

PSG regained control when Barcola smashed Mendes’ cross into the net, making it 3-2.

In the dying moments, Goncalo Ramos sealed the victory with a calmly converted penalty, sending PSG through to the next round.
