Graham Potter will make a late call on the fitness of Crysencio Summerville ahead of West Ham’s game against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Dutch winger missed Tuesday’s 3-2 win over Fulham in what was Potter’s first victory since taking succeeding Julen Lopetegui as manager due to a hamstring injury picked up in the FA Cup against Aston Villa.

West Ham injury news

On the 23-year-old’s availability, Potter said: “We are still waiting a little bit on Crysencio Summerville. We will probably have to make a late decision – the game may come too soon but we will see because there is still a bit of time.

“Everyone else is pretty much as they were, we have a couple of bumps and bruises that we need to watch over but nothing problematic – certainly long-term.”

Potter also issued an update on on striker Michail Antonio, who continues to recover after being discharged from hospital at the end of last month after being involved in a car crash.

He added: “I was planning to see him this afternoon. I have spoken to him on the phone, he is doing well but it will be nice to see him.”

West Ham transfer news

As a result of Antonio’s continued absence, West Ham are expected to be in the market for a new striker this January, with Niklas Fullkrug also currently out injured.

But Potter suggested the Irons will make a move if the deal is right for them.

He added: “It’s not quite as simple as that. There are a few checklists we have to go through – whether they are available, whether they are able to play in the Premier League and how they would fit how you play and fit into the group.

“It’s a complicated window, so in a week where you have three games in eight days, my focus is on the players that are here. We have three points to play for on the weekend and that’s where all our energy is.”

West Ham have also been linked with Chelsea duo Carney Chukwuemeka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall but Potter suggested he is more concerned about the players he currently has in the building.

He said: “I think if we have anything to report, our supporters will be the first to know. As I’ve said before, we are focusing on the players we have here.

“You can’t worry too much about speculation and what newspapers or whatever else say. Our focus is on the players that we’ve got and not to comment on players that aren’t West Ham players.”
