Brentford are likely to abandon a possible move for Barcelona centre-back Andreas Christensen after he suffered a calf injury in training.
The Denmark international had been linked with a move to the Gtech Stadium with head coach Thomas Frank eager to bolster his defensive options before the transfer window closes on Monday.
But Barca announced this morning that Christensen had sustained an injury to his right soleus and would miss around three weeks.

Given Christensen has made just one league appearance for Hansi Flick’s side this season due to injury, it seems unlikely the Bees would sanction a move for a player so short of match fitness.
That would come as a blow to Barcelona, who remain committed to trying to offload players in a bid to reduce their financial worries.
Even if he was fit, there was doubt as to whether Christensen would fancy the move to north-west London given it would involve swapping Champions League football for a mid-table club in the Premier League.
