Aston Villa head into tonight’s clash with Celtic knowing they need a win to stand any realistic chance of securing an automatic place in the Champions League round of 16.
Villa are currently ninth and on the outside looking in but they have four teams in their sights and a slip from any of Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Atalanta or Bayer Leverkusen could open the door.
They won’t find it easy against a Celtic side who have qualified for the playoffs but will want to end a strong league phase with a win at Villa Park.
The Hoops will be well rested too after their weekend clash with Dundee was postponed due to Storm Γowyn.
