Al-Nassr edged past Al-Raed with a 2-1 win at King Abdullah Sport City.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 35th minute, finishing a well-placed cross from Marcelo Brozovic to put Al-Nassr ahead.

The visitors controlled much of the first half, with Ronaldo and Sadio Mane both coming close to doubling the lead before the break.

Just minutes into the second half, Al-Nassr extended their lead when Nawaf Bu Washl found the bottom right corner after being set up by Ronaldo in the 47th minute. The visitors looked comfortable at 2-0, but Al-Raed refused to give up.

The hosts pulled one back in the 76th minute through Amir Sayoud, who fired a right-footed strike into the top corner.

That goal reignited Al-Raed’s hopes, and they pushed forward in search of an equaliser.

The final stages of the game were tense, with Al-Nassr forced into a defensive shape.

Despite late pressure from Al-Raed, Al-Nassr held on for the win, with goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah making key saves to deny the home side.

A late attempt by Ali Al Hassan flew high and wide, sealing Al-Nassr’s three points.

The victory keeps Al-Nassr firmly in the title race, while Al-Raed will be left frustrated after a spirited fightback fell short.
