Following the chaos of the Champions League on Wednesday night, it was time for the Europa League to host 18 games at the same time on Thursday.

There was still so much to play for across the board in Europe’s secondary competition as teams fought to secure automatic and play-off places ahead of the last-16.

Three British teams were in action. Tottenham eased past Swedish side Elfsborg, beating them 3-0 at home to guarantee a place in the knockout phases.

Meanwhile, Manchester United had no trouble seeing off FCSB 2-0 away from home and finishing one place above their Premier League rivals.

And Rangers also squeezed through inside the top eight. The Scottish side beat Union Saint-Gilloise 2-1 and the results went in their favour to help them progress.

Some other big clashes were also on the cards. Roma beat Frankfurt 2-0 to make it into the play-offs, where they could come up against United.

Ajax are another side who could face the Premier League team after they saw off Galatasaray 2-1 at home.

Braga agonisingly missed out on a place in the play-offs despite beating Lazio, as did Hoffenheim, who overcame Anderlecht in a thriller.

Read on to see every result from Matchday 8 of the Europa League.
