Championship outfit Blackpool will act as hosts on Saturday, January 7th, eyeing a spot in the 4th round of the FA Cup at the expense of Nottingham Forest.

The Seasiders will head into proceedings as underdogs, for altogether obvious reasons.

Blackpool have endured a difficult campaign to date, with recent weeks, in particular, having seen Michael Appleton’s troops slip into nothing short of an alarming dip in form.

All told, dating back to the beginning of November, Saturday’s hosts have failed to secure a single victory, from nine attempts.

This dismal stretch has culminated in Blackpool being dragged into the Championship’s bottom three, staring relegation square in the face.

Safe to say, then, that upcoming opponents Forest will head into proceedings at Bloomfield Road confident in their chances of sending their hosts packing from the FA Cup.

All told, just one of the Reds’ last eight fixtures have culminated in defeat.

Not only that, but, fresh off an impressive point secured against Chelsea last weekend, Steve Cooper’s troops followed up by climbing out of the Premier League drop zone courtesy of a crucial downing of fellow relegation candidates Southampton.

After navigating their way to the competition’s quarter-finals last time out, Forest, in turn, should be viewed as clear favourites to do likewise at Blackpool’s expense on Saturday evening, too.
