One of the more high-profile fixtures of the FA Cup’s third round is set to play out at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, January 7th.

The clash in question will see Premier League outfit Bournemouth play host to Championship high-flyers Burnley.

The former, for their part, will head into proceedings having endured an altogether tough time of things of late.

On their way to being dragged back into the relegation scrap in England’s top-flight, the Cherries have slipped to defeat in seven of their last eight.

The most recent came this past weekend, when another altogether underwhelming display culminated in Gary O’Neil’s troops being put to the sword by three goals to nil at Old Trafford.

Should Bournemouth have legitimate hopes of turning things around to book their spot in the 4th round of the FA Cup for the 2nd year running, then they, in turn, will likely require a much-improved showing on Saturday afternoon.

Burnley have of course enjoyed a fine campaign to date, sitting pretty atop the Championship table, with a comfortable cushion amid efforts to secure a swift return to the top-flight.

Their most recent triumph, at the expense of Swansea City last weekend, marked the club’s sixth on the trot in the league.

Vincent Kompany’s men will therefore make the trip to the Vitality Stadium confident in their chances of sending Bournemouth packing from the FA Cup.

We at 101, though, are backing an eventual stalemate to play out between the two sides, before the tie is ultimately decided at Turf Moor courtesy of a replay.
