Match preview
Bayer Leverkusen will be in search of a third win in a row since the World Cup when they play hosts to Borussia Dortmund at the BayArena with the home side now up into eighth with their European hopes back on track.
Leverkusen have been excellent since the winter break ended. They kicked things off with a 3-2 win against Borussia Monchengladbach away from home, as Mitchel Bakker, Amine Adli and Nadiem Amiri all scored a goal each.
A 2-0 win over VfL Bochum would come soon after, as Edmond Tapsoba scored from the penalty spot before Adam Hlozek bagged himself another goal to send his side into eighth and in the top half.
Xabi Alonso still sees his side seven points behind Borussia Dortmund in fifth and behind Wolfsburg just above them in seventh by five points. It does mean they still are looking over their shoulders at the likes of Gladbach and Koln.
As for Dortmund, they have somehow managed squeeze six points out of the last two games. Gio Reyna had to come on and win the game against Mainz in the dying second last time out, as they also beat Augsburg 4-3 in a thrilling encounter at Signal Iduna Park.
Dortmund remain in sixth still, but they can get their title quest back on track with another win here.
