Match preview

Eintracht Frankfurt are gradually losing their grip on sixth place in the Bundesliga as they head into this one without a win in their past three games with Stuttgart up next at Deutsche Bank Park.

Frankfurt were in the title race when action returned in Germany towards the end of January, but they have since slumped into sixth and witnessed Wolfsburg and Mainz close the gap behind them.

Worse yet, they’ve lost to RB Leipzig in the past few weeks and now head into this one with a three-point gap on the fourth place, just as Napoli also beat them at home in the Champions League ahead of their second leg on Wednesday.

Stuttgart are coming into this one with a 2-1 loss to Bayern Munich and the same result to Schalke. It has pulled the club right back towards the bottom three in the league, despite hammering Koln 3-0 three weeks ago.

Stuttgart are only above all those in the bottom three on goals difference, as the club have scored 38 goals and let in 40 from the 23 games so far.
