Two sides in completely contrasting areas of the Bundesliga table are set to meet this weekend in Germany’s top flight as Freiburg look to get their title charge back on track as the away outfit merely look to push themselves further up the division.
It’s been a tough season for Augsburg, but they do come into this one having beaten Borussia Monchengladbach 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Mergim Berisha on home soil.
A tough pill to swallow came just prior to this, however, as Augsburg took Borussia Dortmund right down to the wire in a 4-3 loss at Signal Iduna Park.
It does now put them in 14th and out of the bottom three once more and with just a two-point gap on Bochum in the relegation playoff spot of 16th.
As for Freiburg, they are yet to win a game in the Bundesliga since action resumed after the World Cup and they have consequently moved from second all the way down into sixth in the table.
They were hammered 6-0 by Wolfsburg in their first game back, as they managed to get a point against Eintracht Frankfurt during the week thanks to an equaliser from Matthias Ginter.
