Match preview
Two sides sitting fifth in their respective leagues will meet in the Champions League this Tuesday as Tottenham Hotspur make the trip to Italy to meet with the Serie A champions AC Milan at the famous San Siro.
It’s been a tough run for Milan since the World Cup and they have only just returned to the win column after a three-game losing run that saw them concede 10 goals and score just two. Lazio, Sassuolo and a loss to rivals Inter Milan has now put their Champions League hopes for next season in doubt.
The club are still the champions in Italy for the time being, and they head into this one having finished just three points behind Chelsea in Group E of the Champions League after winning three games and losing two.
Tottenham, however, head into this one after a stunning 4-1 loss to Leicester City. Rodrigo Bentancur did score that day but came off with an injury in the game that now keeps him out for the season.
Spurs did manage to beat the champions Manchester City just under two weeks ago, as Harry Kane scored to become the club’s all-time top scorer.
It’a an incredibly tough game to call and arguably the most intriguing Champions League two-legged affair as a result.
