Match Preview for Feyenoord v Inter
Inter Milan begin their quest to conquer the Champions League knockouts against Feyenoord on Wednesday.
The Italian champions will fancy their chances having been dealt on the kinder side of the draw, meaning they will not have to face the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid or Arsenal until the final.
It has been a good few weeks for the Nerazzurri, who have knocked Napoli off of the top spot in Serie A despite only winning two of their last five domestic matches.
But as always, Europe is a tough test against any opponent and a good performance away from home will be crucial for Inter if they are to book their spot in the quarter-finals against either Bayern Munich or Bayer Leverkusen.
Robin van Persie will get his first taste of life as Feyenoord head coach in the Champions League against the Serie A side after taking up the role in recent weeks.
The Dutch side overcame Inter’s arch-rivals AC Milan in the play-off round, and they will be riding a huge wave of momentum under new management.

Prediction
This is a tough match to call considering Feyenoord’s immense home record.
The two teams have only faced off twice before, with the hosts winning once and the other meeting ending a draw.
But Feyenoord’s injuries are a huge blow heading into the tie, and Inter will fancy themselves to make a deep run and possibly even win the competition having come so close a few years ago.
The firepower of Lautaro Martinez may be too much for Feyenoord to live with, even in front of a loud crowd.
But if Inter are not on their game, they will be punished heading back to San Siro for the second leg.
Prediction: Feyenoord 1-2 Inter Milan
