Chelsea will open their doors to Borussia Dortmund this Tuesday evening for the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie where the German giants have a narrow 1-0 lead to work with at Stamford Bridge.
Despite being the most in-form side across Europe since the World Cup, Chelsea are the favourites over the Bundesliga side heading into this clash in west London. Dortmund are, however, on a 10-game winning run and have not lost or drawn a single game since the World Cup.
It puts them ahead of sides like Napoli, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in the form table, as the Black and Yellow have even managed to set up a quarter-finals DFB-Pokal battle with RB Leipzig and move to level on points with Bayern at the top.
Dortmund beat Leipzig just last Friday in the Bundesliga, as Emre Can and Marco Reus sealed all three points with a goal each. In the first leg against Chelsea, Karim Adeyemi’s solo brilliance secured a 1-0 aggregate lead.
As for the Blues, they returned to the win column with a narrow 1-0 win over Leeds United where Wesley Fofana netted his second goal for the club in just seven games. It was, however, just the 10th win from 27 matches for Graham Potter at the Chelsea helm.
