Match preview
One of the more high-profile fixtures of the final round of Champions League group stage fixtures is set to play out at Anfield on Tuesday, November 1st.
The clash in question will see a Liverpool outfit in the midst of an alarming stretch of form on the domestic front play host to one of world football’s most in-form sides in Napoli.
Starting with the former, Jurgen Klopp’s troops, of course, have taken their place front and centre in the headlines over the course of the last couple of weeks.
Unfortunately for all associated with the Reds, though, this has come for altogether less than positive reasons.
And yet, on the continent, the Merseysiders for the most part have continued to impress.
Klopp and co. have already booked their spot in the Champions League’s knockout rounds, owing to a record of four wins from five, with 15 goals scored and just six conceded.
The latest of these triumphs came last week, when a trip to Amsterdam saw goals on the part of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott give rise to an impressive downing of Eredivisie champions Ajax.

And yet, with 12 points on the board, Liverpool remain 2nd best in Group A, by some way.
This comes with their upcoming opponents in the midst of perhaps the most impressive stretch of form of any club across the entire continent.
Napoli, all told, have emerged victorious from each of their last thirteen outings across all competitions, dating back to the beginning of last month.
Their historic run has seen the Partenopei rack up no fewer than 38 goals along the way, four of which came at the weekend at the expense of Sassuolo.
On the continent, meanwhile, Luciano Spalletti’s men have made remarkably short work of what, on paper, looked a treacherous group.
A perfect five wins from five sees the Serie A table-toppers as good as assured of advancement as Group A winners, where they will be hoping for a favourable draw in the competition’s Last-16.
Owing to a three-goal drubbing of Liverpool in Naples back on September 7th, it would require an even greater margin of victory for the hosts on Tuesday to usurp Napoli on the final day.
And we at 101 view as much as being altogether unlikely, with the visitors looking well equipped to avoid being on the receiving end of another ‘famous European night’ at Anfield.
