Match preview

Paris Saint-Germain can secure a palce in the knockout games with with a win here over Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League as first meets fourth in Group H on Tuesday night in Paris.

It’s been a good Champions League campaign for Maccabi Haifa, who despite sitting bottom of the table, have registered arguably their greatest-ever European result in defeating Juventus last time out in the competition. It was a 2-0 win for the club that night, and these three points are all they have on the board so far. In fact, Haifa gave PSG a scare in leading the game inside the first 10 minutes in the other fixture between these two, before the Ligue 1 giants went on to win the game.

PSG did draw with Benfica 1-1 in consecutive Champions League games recently, while also drawing 0-0 with Reims within these games. Nevertheless, by beating Marseille 1-0 and then Ajaccio 3-0, the Ligue 1 champions are now still unbeaten this season.

As for Maccabi Haifa, they are still top of the table in the Israeli Premier League, having lost just two of their nine games so far this season with only nine goals conceded. They have also won seven times in the league, but with three losses in the Champions League and eight goals conceded, there is very little hope for them heading to Paris.

It should be a comfortable win for Kylian Mbappe and co. On the other hand, Haifa have been a problem for PSG and Juventus already this season.
